The concept of procurement logistics means that goods or materials are purchased, or procured, and are then transported to a warehouse or a place of production. Logistics determines how these processes are carried out; it connects the sales of supplies to the production activities of a company.

Demand and Sales Planning

Our goal is to improve demand-adjusted forecasts and plans as they apply to the customer's unique situation. Through the use of dynamically selectable, field-proven algorithms which are not available in all current ERP systems, lot sizes, order quantities, safety stock, etc. can be optimized. In addition, a risk analysis tool helps to make strategic decisions. We analyze and evaluate such questions as, How does the stock value change, and thus the liquidity, if the availability of x changes? How do liquidity and availability change, when stocks are increased or reduced by x amount? How are inventory and availability changed, if liquidity is changed by x amount?

In this way inventory can be optimized by an average of 17% and availability can also be improved.

Inventory Management

Genuine win-win situations develop through the closer integration of suppliers, which helps reduce inventory costs significantly. A good example is the support of consignment stores using abbino’s Supplier Managed Inventory module. The holdings are managed by the suppliers themselves so that the customer does not have to worry about it. This option allows suppliers to control their inventories better. Since the suppliers are also better informed about expected orders and are able to plan their production and inventories more efficiently, customers benefit from improved product availability.

Thus, on average, 17% more liquidity can be obtained from the inventory and availability can be improved in the process.

Transport Management

Through closer integration among shipping companies, we can lower transport costs among suppliers. The goal, for example, may be to transform as many "free house" deliveries into "ex" deliveries as possible. In this way administrative costs that are charged by the supplier to the customers can be reduced. Furthermore, through the intelligent integration of transportation companies made possible by the abbino solutions, shipments can be bundled in such a way as to reduce transport costs significantly. Improvements in receipt of goods and availability can also occur because a considerably better transparency and control over all shipments to customers is created. By booking slots through suppliers and transport companies on the ERP-connected IT systems, incoming material can be optimized.

Transaction Management

It is possible to automate a high number of operational processes, such as the ordering process, long-term supplier declarations, or the invoice process. Companies are regularly confronted with a flood of technical and legal administration. To expedite supply chain and order processing while avoiding mistakes, companies are looking for ways to automate their document exchange processes. A majority of orders includes different types of documents—from technical drawings of equipment and components to safety and operating certificates. For each purchase from a supplier, the relevant documents must be gathered, a repetitive, time-consuming process.
